Early life
On the 9th of June 1980, Udonis Haslem was born in Miami, Florida. John and Debra gave birth to him. John, his father, was a member of the Stetson Hatters basketball team.
He attended Wolfson High School and Miami Senior High School, according to his educational background. He led his high school basketball team to win state crowns for two years, in 1997 and 1998. Due to a regulation violation by the Florida High School Athletic Association, Miami High was stripped of its 1998 championship.
Following an athletic scholarship, Haslem enrolled at the University of Florida. In 1998, he joined Billy Donovan’s University squad. He aided his team in advancing to the NCAA Men’s Division I Basketball Championship game during his second year. He averaged 13.7 points and 6.7 rebounds per game during his collegiate career.

He assisted his club in winning the NBA Finals for the second time in 2012.
Haslem has decided to retire from the Heat after the 2018-19 season. He had no plans to retire, though. On August 6, 2019, he changed his mind and re-signed with the Heat for a one-year contract.
