Shin Lim Net Worth and Career
Through his elder brother, Yi, Lim became fascinated by the art of magic tricks. Yi had shown a card trick for him, which Lim subsequently saw on YouTube. Lim then began viewing YouTube videos one by one. Shin Lim later began practicing various magic tricks and studying existing celebrity magicians like David Blaine, whose performances he found to be particularly remarkable.
Carpal tunnel syndrome, on the other hand, would be his diagnosis. Once he had mastered all of the basics, he continued to work on increasing his abilities and began to design his own tricks. He went on to compete in the Fédération Internationale des Sociétés Magiques in 2012, where he placed sixth. Despite the fact that this was not the outcome he has hoped for, it did provide him with exposure.
Lim was then approached by an agency that offered him a trip to China. He opted to keep his show’s workflow the same since his performances now included music but no narrative, which piqued spectators’ interest in what would happen next.
In 2015, Lim won the World Championship and was invited to join Penn & Teller: Fool Us. Lim was persuaded at this point that he wanted to devote his life to magic. However, he suffered a setback after damaging two tendons on his left thumb, raising concerns about whether his career might be cut short if he could not heal fully.
Lim’s operation went smoothly, and he was able to make a complete recovery. His most significant victory, however, came on America’s Got Talent, when he was named the champion and received a monetary award of $1 million. He also competed in the inaugural season of America’s Got Talent: The Champions, winning. After appearing on these programs, Lim’s fame increased.
