On July 22, 1986, Sean Lee was born in the United States  in Pittsburg. Craig Lee and Geralyn Lee were his parents. Conor, Sean’s older brother, was a University of Pittsburgh placekicker. He also has an older sister, Alexander, who was a student-athlete at Upper St. Clair High School. Donald J. Lee, his grandfather, was a Federal Judge for the Western District of Pennsylvania in the United States District Court.

While attending Upper St. Clair High School, Sean was involved in a variety of sports. With an average of 21.2 points, 3.2 assists, and 9.1 rebounds, he won the district championship as a basketball player. Lee was an excellent basketball player, but his true calling was football. Lee racked up 95 tackles, 1240 yards, and 21 touchdowns throughout his high school career.

He attended Pennsylvania State University after graduating from high school. He began his career with the team’s Nittany Lions as an outside linebacker.
