Rob Minkoff was born in Palo Alto, California, on the 11th of August, 1962. Jack Robert and Tola Fay Minkoff, both Jewish, gave birth to him. He graduated from Palo Alto High School with a high school diploma. Later, in the early 1980s, he enrolled in the California Institute of Arts, where he studied Character Animation.
