Pete grew up in Forest Lake, Minnesota, and was birth on June 6, 1980. He went to Princeton University after graduating from Forest Lake Area High School. In 2003, he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in arts from the university.
He was the publisher of The Princeton Tory, a student-run journal at Princeton, during his undergraduate years. He earned a Master of Public Policy from Harvard University’s John F. Kennedy School of Government after working in his profession for a number of years.
