On July 12th, 1976 Kyrsten Sinema was birth in Tucson, Arizona. Dan and Marilyn Sinema welcomed her into the world. Dan, her father, practiced law. Her parents divorced when she was a little child. Her mother took custody of the children and remarried when her parents divorced. Kyrsten has a younger sister and an older brother.

She attended Walton High School for her secondary studies. She then enrolled at Brigham Young University, where she graduated in 1995 with a bachelor’s degree. Kyrsten went on to acquire a Master of Social Work degree from Arizona State University in 1999. She also earned a J. D. degree from Arizona State University College of Law in 2004.

Sinema announced her candidacy for the 9th congressional district in January 2012. After winning by 4 percentage points, she was sworn in as President in January 2013.

On September 28, 2017, Sinema launched her candidacy for the US Senate’s Class I seat. After being sworn in as a member of the US Senate on January 3, 2019, she became the first woman to represent Arizona in the chamber.

In March 2021, Kyrsten voted against raising the federal minimum wage to $15 per hour. After refusing to abolish the filibuster in order to enact new voting rights legislation this year, she was recently attacked by her own supporters. Hundreds of leftist voters and civil rights activists demonstrated outside her Phoenix office.
