Kenya Summer Moore Daly was born in Detroit, Michigan, in January 1971 to adolescent parents Patricia Moore and Ronald Grant. Following her mother’s abandonment as a newborn, she was raised by her paternal grandmother and aunt. Kenya has never spoken to her mother, who claims Kenya was never born.
