Early Life
On August 25, 1963 Trauma G was birth in the Brooklyn neighborhood of New York City. He spent most of his boyhood, though, in Tampa, Florida, with his family. Music has always been a passion of his since he was a child. He was named “Most Talented” at Grecot Junior High School in 1978 for his drumming abilities. Following his parent’s divorce, he went to Queens and developed an interest in hip-hop music.
He returned to Florida two years later and joined the Master Blasters as a DJ. He decided to pursue music seriously after his first success and enrolled at Hillsborough Community College to study music theory.

Shock G relocated to California after finishing his studies and created the ‘Digital Underground’ organization. He himself, Jimi Chopmaster J, and Kenneth Waters were the three members of the group.
