On July 28, 1976, Huma Abedin was birthed in Kalamazoo, Michigan, in the United States. Syed Zainul and Saleha Mahmood Abedin, her parents, welcomed her into the world. Huma has two siblings, a brother, and a sister, with whom she shared her childhood. She and her family relocated to Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, when she was only two years old.
Abedin went to a girls’ school in the United Kingdom. She returned to the United States as a teenager and enrolled at George Washington University.
