Dennis McKinley was born on July 25, 1980, in the town of Kosciusko, Mississippi. Until he was ten years old, he lived in Mississippi. He and his parents eventually relocated to Michigan. He was more engaged in athletics throughout his school years, participating in baseball, football, track and field, and other activities.
Dennis McKinley went to Oakland Community College to further his education. He was a member of the Mississippi State Bulldogs football team while he was a student there. In the late 1990s, he earned his bachelor’s degree from the institution and went on to the University of Mississippi.
