Early Life
Scott Thompson, better known as Carrot Top, was birth on February 25, 1965. Thompson attended Cocoa High School and was a member of the concert band there. He went on to study at Florida Atlantic University, where he saw his first live stand-up comedy show as a student. His roommate suggested he attempt stand-up comedy one day, and he did so at an open mic, where he made his debut.

Thompson started his career as a courier for a bank while concurrently pursuing his dream of becoming a comedian. However, owing to the frustration of not being able to break into any clubs, he left after his first year. He started doing odd jobs to make ends meet, but after seeing how funny he was, a club owner invited him to perform at his establishment.
In 1990, while in Florida, he would make his first booking. As a result, he began to apply for employment every weekend, which led to a cascade of opportunities. As his celebrity grew, he was invited to participate in the show Comic Strip Live. Then, in 1992, he would make his debut appearance on The Tonight Show. Thompson rose to prominence after adopting the stage name Carrot Top and appearing in a number of TV shows and films. Gene Simmons Family Jewels, Space Ghost Coast to Coast, and Chairman of the Board are just a few of the numerous appearances.
He has also appeared on a number of shows, including Reno 911!, Last Comic Standing, and Carrot Top’s AM Mayhem, which ran until 1996.
