Blac Youngsta (Sammie Marquez Benson) was born in Memphis, Tennessee, on April 8, 1990. Together with his younger brothers, he looks after his grandparents. Blac came from an impoverished family where his grandparents couldn’t afford to feed him and his brothers. He began working at a local grocery shop when he was seven years old in order to help his grandparents.
